The Marble Sorter

Marble sorter objective the assignment given to us was to simulate a recycling sorting machine that would sort the materials the marbles in its owe different container with the container being removable.

Each marble is held in front of the brainpad s light sensor so it can be determined if it is a black or white marble. 30 second time penalty for each wrongly sorted marble. A hole is cut in the box so the light sensor can peek through the hole and see each marble. Fastest time gets first place.

The sorter must sort 15 marbles of wood plastic and steel. Created as a year 11 engineering project. Must be under 2 minutes. National recreation park association nrpa needed a sorter to sort recycled materials.

Can be easily modified to sort different colours. We were to design model and test of a larger scale machine using marbles as the potential recycled items. An autonomous marble sorter which raises marbles to a height then separates based on type glass or metallic and colour white yellow and black.
