My original idea was to splice them into the cooler lines with some brass blocks. You might consider doing the pressure sensor in the output line and the temp in the return line. To lower the transmission temperature with the transmission in neutral run the engine at 1 200 rpm for 2 3 minutes to cool the oil. The temperature in this location will vary significantly with each vehicle start up or hill.

On gm th 200 th 200r4 4l80e and ford aod transmissions this is the lower oil line to the transmission case. Than i got the idea to remove the test port plugs and install there but don t know if it will affect the reading or not. For example if you consistently see the out line temp at 230 degrees on a pass and it suddenly jumped to 260 degrees you would start looking for a problem where the pan may only change by 1 or 2 degrees.
